Florence "Carla" (Colerick) Reed

Florence Carla (Colerick) Reed passed away March 25, 2018, at the Licking Memorial Hospital, in Newark, Ohio. She was born April 19, 1947, to Carl F. and Florence (Coleman) Colerick. A 1965 graduate of Crooksville High School, Carla also earned a degree at Meredith Business College before accepting employment at the Crooksville Bank. 

In 1969 she married James W. Reed. The couple resided in the Gratiot area with their three sons. Carla enjoyed gardening, visiting with neighbors, and family activities. She absolutely loved her children and grandchildren. Carla had been a volunteer at Hopewell Elementary School, as well as serving as a TOPS leader. In recent years, she spent countless hours sewing, knitting and crocheting thousands of tiny garments for Touching Little Lives. 

In addition to her parents, Carla was also preceded in death by her husband, who died in 2004. She is survived by her son, Jason Reed, his wife Nicole, and their children, Calla, Cole and Raymond; son Tim Reed, his wife Sarah, and their sons Cody and Andrew; son Anthony Reed, his wife Alissa, and their daughters Annastasia and Arrianna.

Carla also leaves behind, her sister, Kay (Bruce) Miller; her husband's siblings, Steve (Linda) Reed, Gary (Janie) Reed, and Roseanne (Chuck) Newman; several loving nieces and nephews; and several dear cousins. She will be greatly missed. You may call on the family Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with services to follow at 1 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services. Burial will follow.
