John Edward 'Sule' Patterson Jr., 67, of Zanesville passed away at his home. John was born July 5, 1949 in Akron, Ohio to John and Ada Bell Patterson, Sr.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by daughter, Koeta Pettiford and one sister, Juanita Lawson and special friend, Rafika Brown.

He is survived by daughter, Kadijah Pettiford; two sons, Sékou Imani and Khalil Pettiford; mother, Ada Bell Patterson; two brothers, Gary Lee (Lillian) Patterson and Derrick Patterson; two sisters, Renee (Robert) Greene and Loretta (Louis) Johnson; his special friend, Marlene Pettiford; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Family will receive friends, Friday, May 5, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle Street. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at guestbook link.
