Kevin Deland Cain, passed away at home on January 14, 2017.  He was born July 18, 1956 in Zanesville, Oh to the late Norma Jean Flood and William J. “Tony’ Smith.
He worked in Illinois as the head custodian engineer of the Wheeling Illinois  School District before returning to Zanesville where he enjoyed his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, William Smith, Durwin ‘Turk’ Smith and David Earl Thomas and a very special friend, Carrie Reed.
Kevin leaves behind a wife, Joann Cain of Illinois; four children, Kevin Burrell (Kristy) and Katelyn Cain of Zanesville, Joy Cain of Detroit, Deona and Maurice Cain both of Illinois; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren; four brothers, James ‘Butch’ (Veronica) Smith, Lonnie ‘Sam’ Smith, Gregory (Gloria) Smith and Jonathan “Tasia” Smith; two sisters Loretta ‘Pearl” Smith and Teresa Smith; four aunts, Mary Jane Royster, Samantha Norris, Bonnie Norris and Lee Norris and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.  Kevin was a very giving person and will be greatly missed by all.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the funeral home, 414 LaSalle St. at 11 a.m. with service to follow at 12 p.m..  Elder Terrence Brown will officiate.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Condolences may be expressed at guest book link.
