ZANESVILLE. Letha "Lee" Jane Kennedy, 84, of Zanesville, took her final breath on Earth, and her first breath in Heaven, on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Genesis Hospice, with her loving daughters by her side. Letha was born on February 6, 1933 to the late Jack and Ina (Norman) Newman. In addition to her parents, Letha is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles "Chuck" Kennedy; siblings, Winnie Taylor, George Newman, Margaret Cunningham, Eddie Newman, Charles "Chuck" Newman, James "Jimmy" Newman, and Johnny Newman; and a nephew, Little Herbie Newman.

Letha leaves behind to mourn her passing, a brother, Herbie (Jan) Newman; children, Sherry Rector, Liz (Keith) Gause, Debbie Kennedy, Cindy Todd, Chris (Kenny) Daw, and Tracy (Jimmy) Wallace; grandchildren, John (Erika) Rector, Jeremy (Jamie) Rector, Mandy (Nick) Norris, Marcus (Theresa) Gause, Danny Kennedy, Tiffani (Tony) Wallace, Brittani (Craig) Hittle, Olivia Daw, and Xaiden Wallace; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; special caregivers, Ashley Roberts, Tiffani Wallace and Tessa Stevens; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Letha was a very special woman who took pride in being a homemaker for her children and family. Letha loved to cook and spend time gathering with her family. She was an awesome mother, grandmother and sister. Letha enjoyed Van Johnson movies and loved country music, especially Conway Twitty. She is sure to be missed by all who knew her. You may call on the family Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with an additional viewing Friday, July 21, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m., all to be held at Union Tabernacle Church, 2433 Hartford Ave, Zanesville, OH.
