. Melvin Andrew Kennedy Jr., age 54, of Zanesville, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Melvin was born July 14, 1963 to Melvin A. and Patricia M. (Brooks) Kennedy Sr. In addition to his parents, Melvin leaves behind to mourn his passing his children, Ashley (Ryan) McKibben, Allison Kennedy, and Amber (Brad) Fitzpatrick; grandchildren, Ian and Carson McKibben, and Ashlynne, Noah and Cam Fitzpatrick; siblings, Mark Kennedy, Melissa (Walt) Brennan, Marcia Kennedy, and Malinda (Vince) Redolf; and a host of other relatives, family and friends. Melvin is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Melvin enjoyed his work. He gave 19 years of service as a tool maker to United Tech/Leer Company as well as 4 years of hard work to Molding Tech Company. In his free time, Melvin was known to enjoy activities such as fishing. He even created his own games to play, due to his love for numbers. Melvin was also an avid sports card collector. He is sure to be missed by all who knew him. You may call on the family Thursday, August 24 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. An additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 11a.m., all to be held at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle Street. Minister Tim Pouling, of the First Church of God, New Lexington, OH officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
