David "Smitty Dog" E. Smith

David E. “Smitty Dog” Smith, Sr., 73, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at 8:37 p.m., following a long illness, at Adena Medical Center in Waverly, OH. David is preceded in death by a son, Tommy; two brothers, Nelson “Butch” Smith, and Gary (Barb) Smith; a sister, Norma (Mike) Webb; as well as his parents, Nelson and Violet Smith. David leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Carol S. Smith, of Zanesville; sons, David (Niccole) Jr., and Terry (Tammy); daughters, Sheri (Jim), Julia (Scott) and Krista (Terry); grandchildren, Jessica, Kimberly, Cory, Kyndall, Karlie, David III, Jimmy, Jody, Jennifer, Shane and Jessie; many great grandchildren; brother Mike; sisters Billy, Pam and Yvonne; and a host of other family and friends. David’s favorite pass time was singing “karaoke”. His friends and family loved to hear him sing. He will be missed by those that knew him. A memorial service will be held at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St., on Friday, July 27, 2018 beginning at 1 p.m. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
