Helen E. (Singer) Norris

Helen E. Norris, 102, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at her home. Helen was born September 13, 1916 to the late Rosie Singer. In addition to her mother, Helen is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Evangelist Edgar L. Norris; two sons, Robert L. Norris and John E. Norris; daughter, Rachel A. (Norris) Smith; four sisters, Hazel Goins, Sarah Louise Myers, and Martha and Goldie Singer; brother, Gerald Shipman; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Helen leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Dorothy Smith, Mary Cooper, and Sarah Cole; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 
Helen was a member of the Church of God and Saints of Christ. She was devoted to her church and served as a Mother Sarah. In free time, Helen often enjoyed shopping for purses and shoes. She was a loving matriarch to her family. She will be missed. You may call on the family Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., at the Church of God and Saints of Christ, 516 Cliffwood Ave, in Zanesville. Evangelist Norris officiating.  Burial will take place in Suffolk, Virginia at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. BURREL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
