Mabel J. Barner

Josephine Burchett Barner of Zanesville Ohio, aged 79 was called home from Genesis Hospital of natural causes on September 10, 2019. She was born on August 9, 1940 to Willis Harmon Stotts and Zelma Longshore Stotts. She married Earnest Love Burchett on December 18, 1956. As a military spouse, she was afforded the opportunity to live in several different places around the country. The fifth of ten children, she spent every Wednesday with her sisters for forty years, right up until her death, participating in crafts and baking.  Following the death of Earnest, she found love again with a wonderful man by the name of Charles Barner who she married on June 7, 2001. They remained married until Charlie's passing. She quite enjoyed her pets and often kept a parrot who she enjoyed teaching to speak. 

She is survived by brothers Wayne and Danny Stotts; Sisters, Nora Davis and Joy Gortner; Daughters, Tammy Burchett, Kimberly Glowacki, Linda Tokudu; and son Ernest "Cuzz" Burchett. Mabel is also survived by several grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Ernest Burchett and Charles Barner. Also preceded by sisters Essie Davis, Elaine Peterson, Corrina Stotts; Brothers, Dale Stotts and Johnny Stotts; and daughter, Pamela Lutgen. 

Viewing is scheduled for September 13th at 11a.m. and is provided by Burrel Funeral Services located at 414 La Salle Street, Zanesville Oh. The memorial service will commence immediately after.
