ZANESVILLE. Russel A. Shumate, 76, of Zanesville, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at his home. Russel was born June 20, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jospehine Shumate.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his wife Kathy J. Shumate; and a sister, Sue of Florida; and other friends and family.
Russel was a dedicated member of the Sons of the American Legion. He also enjoyed the company of  VFW members. He will be missed by many. You may call on the family Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with services to follow at 1 p.m. at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St. Cremation will follow per Russel's wishes.
