William "Bill" Gary Caplinger, Sr., 71, of Zanesville, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born June 4, 1946 to the late Clarence W. and Blanch E. (Harmon) Caplinger. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by siblings, Charles Harmon, Obed Caplinger, Sr., Rink Caplinger, and Delores Jennings; and two special granddaughters, Jessica and Allison.
Bill leaves behind to miss his earthly presence, his wife of 52 years, Barbara Kay Caplinger; children, William "Bill" Caplinger, Jr., Samantha Caplinger, Frank (Jennifer) Caplinger, Robert "Bob" Caplinger, and Kimberly (Anthony) Gibson; sisters, Janet Paxson and Nancy Murlinax; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other friends and family.
Bill was an employee of Polk's Scrap Yard since the age of 19, only retiring recently. He enjoyed outdoor work in his free time, especially mowing grass. Bill's favorite activity was getting to enjoy the company of his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.
