Alfred Eugene Stires

Alfred Eugene Stires, 62, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Friday, April 22, 2022. Alfred was born August 18, 1959 in Zanesville to the late Alfred G. and Shirley E. (Giffin) Stires. In addition to his parents, Alfred is also preceded in death by a sister, Sally; brother, Rick; and beloved son, Tony.
Alfred leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sarah S. (Hoge) Stires; beloved children, Rusty (Courtney), Amy and Michael (Marie Wilson); cherished grandchildren, Kendall, Payten, D.J., Lane, Dakota, Tucker, Katlyn, Ryan, Noah, Ethan, Logan, Averi, Kaitlyn, Robert and Derrick; siblings, Sue Bailes, Jerry Stires and Joe Stires; several nieces and nephews; and a host other family and many friends.
Alfred dedicated many years of employment to the Muskingum County Fairgrounds where he helped to maintain the property. In his free time, Alfred took any chance he could to get outside to fish. He also loved working with his hands, tinkering with and fixing various things. Alfred was an avid collector, having an extensive coin collection, as well as a collection of Disney memorabilia. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
You may call on the family Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Burial will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
