Carolyn W. (Howe) Mann, daughter of the late John & Lillian Howe, was born on August 13, 1949 and took flight to eternity on Saturday June 13, 2020, at the age of 70.
Proceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian (Holbert) Howe; sisters, Vanessa Harrison, Edith Howe and Susan Whitehead; brothers, Clarence “Bear” Simmons, William E. Curtis and John D. Howe; grandmother, Edith M. Baker; aunts, Leona Bishop and Caroline Viney; and three nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Jenise “Elaine” Mann-Tidd, Dayton, Ohio; two grandsons, Cloyd (Patrice) Willis, Washington, D.C. and Miles Tidd, Dayton, Ohio; two great-granddaughters, Cecelia and Caroline Willis and a great-granddaughter (Tidd), due in August; brother Victor (Cheryl) Howe; sisters, Rebecca (Virgil) Johnson, Rayshell (Frank) Wiseman, and Rita Howe; sister in-law Barbara Howe; brothers in-law, Gary Harrison and John Whitehead; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and longtime friend Shirley Thomas of San Diego California.
Carolyn, affectionately known as Toni, spent most of her life between Ohio, Georgia and California. Carolyn was very wise. She never met a stranger and was always up for a good conversation. She loved being around her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading a good book, listening to jazz and watching the Lakers all while wearing one of her favorite caps and enjoying a good drink.
Carolyn will be missed by all who had the privilege of loving & knowing her. You may call on the family, Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. Pastor Justin Wyatt officiating. In honor of her favorite sports team, we are asking everyone to wear Lakers attire or their colors. Cremation will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
