Connie Kay Wayne

Connie Kay Wayne, 63, of Zanesville, Ohio, joined her beloved great-granddaughter Dreama in Heaven on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from her home, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends. Connie was born July 3, 1957 to the late Pete and Memory (Eveland) Wayne. In addition to her parents, Connie is also preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Arthur Smith; her brother, Steve Wayne; a sister, lost in infancy, Judy Wayne; as well as her great-granddaughter, Dreama Gooden.
Connie leaves to cherish her memory, her two sisters, Charlene Wayne and Wanda Galigher; her four beloved daughters, Betty (Jerry) Faust, Shelly (Charles) Perry, of the home, Billie (Smith) Bowen and Sally Smith, all of Zanesville; her cherished grandchildren, Constance Pickrell, Kourtney Caplinger, Charles Perry, Kyle Kendall, Destiny Smith, Hayleigh Brewer, Briauna Robinson and Hope Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Connie was a graduate of the Maysville High School class of 1975. Throughout her life, she dedicated employment to Greenlawn Restaurant, Hoppy's, Irish Sheet Metal, Walmart and was last employed by RHDD. Connie took pride in being a hardworking woman who provided for her family. She loved to cook, especially to prepare meals for those she loved. Connie was a loving mother, but she truly found herself blessed as a grandmother to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren she cherished so much. She will be deeply missed.
You may call on the family Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., minister and son-in-law Charles Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Stovertown Cemetery on St. Rt. 555. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
