Craig LaMonte Brandford, 61, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 6, 2021 after a lingering illness, at Genesis Hospital. Craig was born December 26, 1959 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Robert E. and the late Mary Anna (Harris) Brandford, Sr. Craig was the second oldest of four children. In addition to his beloved mother, Craig is also preceded in death by his older brother, Robert Brandford, Jr.
Craig leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Robert E. Brandford, Sr.; his beloved children, Clarissa Brandford and Joshua Brandford; two granddaughters, Teriauna Brandford and Myla Brandford; brother, Jeffrey Alan Brandford and sister, Carolyn Louise Brandford; very dear and special sister-in-law, Sarah Beth Reid, to whom he felt closer than even a biological sister; special niece, Eboni Brandford; nephews, Joseph Norris, Jr. and DeAndre Brandford; niece, Staci Craig; great-nephew, Marques Greene, and the entire Barnett family; as well as other friends and family too numerous to list.
Craig was a proud member of Morning Star Church of God in Christ. He was also a very gifted singer and a gifted, very creative artist. Craig was an extremely friendly person who never met a stranger. Craig was a Zanesville High School graduate. He went on to dedicate 11 years of service as a government employee, serving on the local police force and also Muskingum County fraud investigations. Craig was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Maple Avenue Kidney Care, as well as the medical staff of doctors and nurses at Genesis Hospital who so professionally and diligently took care of Craig.
Due to the present infectious pandemic now taking place, the family has chosen cremation and no services will be observed at this time. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
