Darla Kay (Rushing) Harris

Darla Kay Harris, 73, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Darla was born October 21, 1947 to the late Frank E. and Violet L. (Watson) Rushing. In addition to her parents, Darla is also preceded in death by her sister, Sheila Pletcher; two brothers, Earl “Butch” and Nick Rushing; and her companion of many years, Ralph Newton.

Darla leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ricky E. Coleman, and Troy Newton; granddaughter, Megan Coleman Wickham; great-granddaughters, Rayna and Layla Wickham; and a host of friends, including the staff of Bob Evans on Underwood in Zanesville.

Darla worked as a hostess for Bob Evans for many years. She was loved very much by the staff and patrons. She was an avid collector of all things dolphins, with lots of beautiful dolphin themed decorations around her home. Darla enjoyed watching her NCIS television programs. Most of all, she loved time with her loved ones, especially her beloved great-granddaughters. She will be dearly missed. Per the family’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services will be observed at this time. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
