Denise Jean (Bruce) Hill

Denise Jean Hill, 65, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at her home. Denise was born November 19, 1957 in Columbus, daughter of the late Sarah E. (Besser) and Walter P. Bruce. In addition to her parents, Denise is also preceded in death by her sisters, Sandra Sue (Bruce) Vandermark and Linda Jean (Bruce) Gill; brothers, Gary, Bobby, Paul and Greg Bruce; infant son, James Daniel Hill, of Zanesville, whom she lost in 1981; and her 22 year old son, John Henry Hill, Jr., whom she lost in 2001.

Denise leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Jennifer S. (Von) Chandler and Jerramie L. Hill; grandchildren, twins, Shia and Shiesa Hill, Jevon Chandler, Olivia Hill, Amiyah Hill, Taliyah Hill, Xadia Hill and John Rayemond Hill; step-grandchildren, Charvonna and Charles Chandler; great-grandson, Jonathan Bon Soter; siblings, Bob Bruce, Randy Bruce, Carol Ann (Bruce) Edwards, Teresa Bruce, Debbie Bruce Moorehead and Susan Wickham; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Denise dedicated many years of service to the healthcare industry while working as an STNA in Zanesville, Ohio. She went on to dedicate several more years as a home healthcare aide. Denise had also worked for several restaurants as well as Walmart while living in Colorado. Her grandkids were her most treasured loved ones and they were truly the pride and joy of her life. Denise was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed cooking and keeping an immaculate house. She loved putting on music and dancing around, it made her happy. She also loved attending her daughter Jennifer's Zumba classes. Denise was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be missed.

Per the family's wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, March 21 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 5 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
