Diane Newman, 73, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Genesis Hospital. Diane was born October 23, 1950, daughter of the late George Newman. In addition to her father, Diane is also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Newman; sister, Kathy Newman; brother-in-law, Johnny Barnett; and best friend, Edith Howe.
Diane leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Bobbie (Jason) Lewis; cherished grandchildren, Legacy Lewis and Jalen (Diana) Lewis; great-grandchildren, Legend and LaCole Lewis; siblings, Nancy Barnett, Ronnie (Linda) Newman and Pamela (Stewart) Newman; sister-in-law, Phyllis Newman; many nieces and nephews, including special niece, Annie Duling; bonus daughters, Na Hollins and Stephanie Hollins; and a host of many other friends and family, including the Howe family, who were Diane's bonus family that loved her and Bobbie unconditionally.
Diane was an avid BINGO player who also enjoyed playing the lottery, trips to the casino, and most of all, talking (gossiping) on the phone. She worked as an STNA for many years and also dedicated herself as a childcare provider for Job and Family Services. Diane adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her eyes, they did no wrong. Diane loved her family more than anything. She had a heart of gold and would give you anything. Even if you'd done her wrong, she would forgive you and continue to bless you with her generosity. Diane will be greatly missed, as she has been an impactful part of so many lives.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Mercedes Norris, her attentive aide and Jennifer Brennan, her caring nurse for the outstanding care that was provided to Diane.
