Doris Jean (Draughn) Reese

Doris Jean Reese, 75, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021. Doris was born March 18, 1946, in Akron, Ohio to the late Mitchell and Juanita (Slocum) Draughn, Sr. In addition to her beloved parents, Doris is also preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Mona Reese; and siblings, Michael Charles, Janice, Mary, Mitchell, Jr., Martha Ann, Dennis, Deon and Richard.
Doris leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children, Voncile Reese-Perez, Paula Reese, Levency Reese, Eureka Reese, Aisha Reese and Darren Reese; her life partner, whom she married in 1965, Levency E. Reese; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Voncile Williams, Brenda Draughn, Alvin Draughn and Denise Draughn; signifcant other, Hillard Goodman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends.
Doris was baptized into Kingdom Hall and was a faithful Jehovah's Witness. She enjoyed her studies and meetings, and was very dedicated. Doris also loved spending time at family gatherings. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing meals for those she loved. Doris liked to listen to music, and she was always joking and making others laugh. She was a sweet, loving woman who could always be counted on to be a helping hand in a time of need. She will be deeply missed by many.
Per the family's wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services will be observed at this time. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
