Douglas Lee Penrod, Sr.

Douglas Lee Penrod, Sr., 60, of Malta, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at his home. Douglas was born August 7, 1960 to Dane Lemoyn and the late Ann Elizabeth (Brooks) Penrod. In addition to his mother, Douglas is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Penrod; and a brother, Dennis Penrod.

Douglas leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Douglas (Brandi) Penrod, Jr., and Shawn (Amanda) Penrod; father, Dane L. Penrod; grandchildren, Gracie, Summer, Klaira, Kendall, and Korah; siblings, Danny (Pam) Penrod, and Debbie (Ronnie) Peters; special nephews, Scott and D.J. Penrod; his loving pet dog, Reggie; and a host of other family members and friends.

Douglas was a hard working man who had the ability to build anything: boats, houses, and so on. When he wasn’t building his works of art, Douglas enjoyed being by the river, listening to music and dancing. He was a member of the Muskingum Valley Boating Association. Douglas was a kind soul. He married his one and only beloved wife at the age of 15. Above all, Douglas cherished being surrounded by the love they had built, his children, grandchildren and family members. He will be deeply missed by many. You may call on the family, Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. A short service of remembrance will be observed at 10:30 a.m. Funeral procession will leave at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery, Perry County, Ohio. Following burial, the family invites guests to a repass meal at the Muskingum County Boat Club. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
