Elmer "Butch" E. Gaus

Elmer "Butch" Gaus, 68, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Butch was born May 25, 1954 in Zanesville, son of the late Clyde A. and Thelma (Nicholson) Gaus. 
Butch leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Kathryn Ann (Rickeart) Gaus; beloved children, Bill (Rosie) Gaus, Brent (Heather) Gaus, Kandi (Kyle Roberts) Gaus, Rebekah Gaus, Hailey Gaus and Elijah Gaus; step-children, Kathryn (James Jackson) Curtis and Elisha (Holly) Waltz; grandchildren, Austin Gaus, Abby Gaus, Ezekiel Waltz, Noah Coble, Gary Curtis, Aryanna Curtis, Kristian (Kyle) West, Jasmyne McClure, Christian Carpenter, Susan Sweet, Kane West, Merrick West, Annie Forgrave, Bailey Forgrave, Makala Waltz and Elisha Waltz II; several great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Stewart; and a host of other family and friends.
Butch was an avid mechanic who enjoyed working on cars of all types. He also enjoyed CB Radio, where he made friends under the handle Pappy. Butch was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
You may call on the family Monday, September 12, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Elder Terrence Brown officiating. Per Butch's wishes, cremation will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
