Emmett Darrell Bird

Emmett Darrell Bird, 80, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2022. Emmett was born November 12, 1941 in Cow Creek, Hurricane, WV, the son of the late Ira C. and Velma M. (Taylor) Bird. In addition to his parents, Emmett is also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Lear; and the love of his life, Rebecca Bird.
Emmett leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved children, Darrell J. (Laura) Bird, Brady Bird, Jennifer (Randy) Eppley and Kelly (Cindy) Bird; grandchildren, Becca, Brady, Brandon, Bradley, Braden, Gage, Cordell, Casey, Kaylee, Keleigh, Marcus and Mariah; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronnie (Jean) Bird and Delores Weidig; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
Emmett was passionate about the up-keep of lawn work. Mowing, weed eating and landscaping up until his health would no longer permit it. Emmett loved to spend his free time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Arlington Care Center in Newark, Ohio, as well as South Eastern Ohio Hospice for their phenomenal care. Emmett was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed by many.
