Gayland Lee Chandler, Sr.

Gayland Lee Chandler, Sr., 75, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Gayland was born June 17, 1946 to the late Walter and Volores (Dalton) Chandler. In addition to his parents, Gayland is also preceded in death by his sister, Naomi Scipio; three brothers, David Chandler, Sr., Darrell "Pete" Chandler and Gary Chandler, Sr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gayland leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and dedicated wife, Harristean (Stallworth) Chandler; children, Gayland Chandler, Jr., Leland Chandler, Yarnell (Sherri Moorehead) Chandler and Jermell (Laura Surratt) Chandler; grandchildren, Donavon, Déshawn, Jaasis, Kailon, Jael, Xylir, Thailena and Lelila; siblings, Yvonne Campbell, Loretta Franklin, Diana "Jeanie" Mayle and Victoria Chandler; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
Gayland was a United States Veteran, having dedicated service to the US Army. He was a graduate of Zanesville High School where he played his favorite sport, football. Gayland was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He enjoyed going for jogs whenever he was able. Above most else, Gayland cherished the time spent with his family and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Per the family's wishes, private services will be held for relatives and close friends. Masks are required per the family's request. Please adhere to this requirement to enter. Following services, cremation will occur. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
