George Strickland, Jr.

George Strickland, Jr., 65, of Zanesville, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021. Born June 4, 1956, in Zanesville, George was the son of George and Dressalean (Mathis) Strickland, Sr. In addition to his parents, George is also preceded in death by his son, Cory Strickland; and a sister, Betty Walker.

George leaves to cherish his memory, his granddaughter, Kori Shea, of Independence, Kentucky; his siblings, Curtis (Frances) Williams, of Valdosta, GA, Georgia Mae Norris, Leroy and Cheryl Strickland , all of Zanesville, David (Pam) Strickland, of Hepzibah, GA; many nieces and nephews; numerous friends; special companion of many years, Teresa Smith; and a host of others who loved him.

George was known in Zanesville for his love of detailing cars. He worked for many years alongside his beloved father in construction. Per George’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place and no services will be observed at this time. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Genesis Hospice as well as the staff at C.H.F. Willow Haven. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
