Georgia Mae (Strickland) Norris

Georgia Mae Norris, 67, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at her home. Georgia was born May 11, 1955 in Zanesville, daughter of the late Dressalean (Matthis) and George W. Strickland, Sr. In addition to her parents, Georgia is also preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Walker and George Strickland, Jr.; as well as her nephew, Cory Strickland.

Georgia leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Scott (Heather) Strickland, Allena Norris and Allen Norris; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Strickland, Skylyn Strickland, Shalyn Strickland, Jaisean Strickland and Alexander Norris; great-grandchildren, Kendrix and Aailyn; siblings, Cheryl Strickland, of Zanesville, LeRoy Strickland, David (Pam) Strickland, both of Augusta, GA and Curtis (Francis) Williams, of Valdosta, GA; life partner, Allen Norris; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. 

Georgia worked for 20 years for McGraw Edison in Zanesville before their closing. She went on to work for The Oaks at Northpointe as a hospitality supervisor for many years before taking her retirement. Georgia was the life of the party, lighting up every room she entered. She loved movies and enjoyed watching her shows each day. Georgia was a fantastic cook and she loved to have large cookouts and family gatherings with her loved ones. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and much more who will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

You may call on the family, Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Georgia will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery following services. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
