Harry Lee Garland, Jr., 60, of Zanesville, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at his home. Harry was born July 18, 1958 to the late Harry L. and Shirley O. (Cotton) Garland, Sr. In addition to his parents, Harry is also preceded in death by a sister, Constance.
Harry leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Robin D. Garland; his children, LaToya Garland, Talina Garland, Harry Garland III, Chimere Sidney, and Anthony Garland; 11 grandchildren; God child; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; best friends, Eugene James and Lamont Pearson, of Virginia; close friend, Jamie Reed, of Zanesville; and a host of other family and friends.
Harry was a United States Army veteran. He went on to work as a chef, and was known for being an outstanding cook. Aside from cooking, Harry also loved to use his wonderful singing voice. He also enjoyed playing cards in his free time. Harry was a member of the Church of God Saints of Christ in Zanesville. He also spent his time as a volunteer grandparent at Zane Grey Elementary. He will be missed. You may call on the family Sunday, February 10, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Church of God Saints of Christ, 516 Cliffwood Ave. Burial will take place Monday, February 11, 2019 in Woodlawn Cemetery at 10 a.m. Evangelist Norris officiating.
