Iris Lou (Tabler) Thomas, 82, of Zanesville, Ohio went to be with The Lord Saturday, July 31, 2021 at her home. Iris was born February 28, 1939 to the late Ollie Davis Satlerwhite and Sybil Louise (Tabler). In addition to her birth parents, Iris is also preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Oma and Clarence Tabler; beloved husband, Delmar Thomas; her son, Lance Jamison; grandsons, Wesley and Thomas Jamison; and a host of paternal aunts and uncles.
Iris leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children, BethAnne (Timothy) Samson, John Jamison and Thomas Jamison; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, Amelia; and a host of other family and numerous friends.
Iris was a graduate of East High School. At the age of 17, Iris was named the 1955 Miss Bronze Ohio. She worked as a model for Lazarus, Coca Cola and other local businesses in Columbus. Iris went on to enjoy activities such as gardening and crocheting. She loved to shop, and enjoyed traveling. One of Iris' favorite destinations being Myrtle Beach. Iris was a lover of all kinds of music, as well as an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. She was a loving woman who was beautiful both inside and out. She will be greatly missed.
You may call on the family Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., as well as Monday, August 9, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral services to follow at 12 p.m. all of which is to be held at Burrell Funeral Services, in Zanesville. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Minister Jim Workman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Iris' honor be made to Genesis Hospice Center or Genesis Cancer Care Center. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
