John K. Cramer, Sr., 74, of Newark, Ohio passed away Friday, January 22, 2021. John was born June 29, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio to the late Oren King and Betty (Morrow) Cramer. In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by a sister.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Sylvia (Moore) Cramer, whom he married July 3, 2002; his sons, John (Rita) Cramer, Jr., Brian Cramer and A.J. (Nicole) Cramer; siblings, James (Mary) Cramer, Thomas (Dale) Cramer, Patricia (John) Gaddis and Cathy (John) Kackley; grandchildren, Cody, Kristen and Jackie Cramer, Kassandra and Shelby Black, Machaela and Joshua Babb, Andrew Boggs and Jonathan Anderson; great-grandchildren, Ziyha, Riley, Donna, Maddison, Hendrix, Carson, Maliki, Ryker, Levi and Tommy; step-daughters, Stacey Davis and Kelley Moore; step-grandsons, Shaquille Davis and Devan Moore; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
John was a United States Veteran, having served in the Army. During his service, John proudly fought in the Vietnam War. He was a life-member of V.F.W., American Legion and N.R.A. Following his military service, John went on to dedicate years of service to Neff Trucking Co. before retiring. In his free time, John enjoyed rebuilding and repainting older Chevys. John also enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. on race day. He was also a sports fan who enjoyed the Bengals, the Browns, the Reds and the Indians. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and more. He will be deeply missed.
You may call on the family Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. At 3 p.m., a service of Military Honors will be observed, followed by a funeral service, all of which is to be held at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St., in Zanesville. Per the family's wishes, cremation will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
