John Eddy, 78, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, June 13, 2022, at his home. John was born November 15, 1943, son of the late Leroy and Mary (Nalley) Eddy. In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his brothers, David Eddy and Bud Eddy; twin brother, James "Jim" Eddy; sisters, Helen Montaque, Shirley Nance and Patty Hupp; and a grandson, Brayden.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Connie Eddy; children, Duane (Kim) Eddy, Sr., Tracy (Doug) Payton, Todd Eddy and Michael Eddy; grandchildren, Ashley (Manu), Tiffany (Joe), Duane, Jr. (Sarah), Alisha, Aaron (Sherry), Brandyn (Kelsey), Todd, Jr. (Kaitlyn), Michele (Justin), Alison, Kaylee (John) and Kaylynn (Trevor); great-grandchildren, Patrick, Elizabeth, Emersyn, Connor, Audrey, Izzabella, Hunter, Annabella, Sloane, Paityn, Drew, Remingtyn, Addison, Jaxtyn, Makinzey and one on the way; siblings, Raymond Gallagher and Betty (Luther) Merckle; several nieces and nephews; beloved pet cat, Sammy; and a host of other family members and friends.
John was a United States Veteran, having dedicated service to the US Army. He was a member of the VFW as well as the American Legion, where he often enjoyed BINGO games. In his free time, John loved to take day long fishing trips. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
You may call on the family, Friday, June 17, 2022 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services in Zanesville. Minister Rod Stockdale officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
