John Robert McCort

John Robert McCort, 77, of Adamsville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at his home where he was under hospice care. John was born October 26, 1945 in Belmont County, son of the late Robert L. and Mary M. Gallager McCort. John married June L. Starcher on September 29, 1962. The two went on to enjoy 60 wonderful years of marriage.

John worked many different places, the last being the State Nursery (Tree Farm) of Zanesville until its closure in 2003. 

In addition to his loving wife, June, John is also survived by their five wonderful children, Teresa (Michael) Derry; Robert (Amy) McCort, Greg (Beth) McCort, Curtis (Leslie) McCort and William Cody (Bobbie) McCort; fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly; two sisters, Terry and Tracy McCort; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loved ones.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles, Mike and Curt McCort; as well as sisters, Jessie (Fran) Workman and Penny Pierce.

Per John's wishes, cremation has been chosen and his family will hold a memorial service in his honor at a later date. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
