John Paul Nelson

In Loving Memory of John Paul Nelson, 76, of Mount Perry, Ohio, native of Saltillo, Ohio, who entered Heaven on Monday, March 13, 2023. John is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse James Nelson, Jr., and Betty (Williams) Nelson. In addition to his parents, John is also preceded in death by his brothers, James Nelson, Donald Nelson, Earl Nelson, Richard Nelson and Thomas "Pete" Nelson.
John is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Nelson; his sons, Shawn Nelson, Jesse (Lacey) Nelson, Joseph Nelson and Justin Nelson; grandchildren, Kylie, Jesse, Braydon, Jalyn and Gage; his siblings, Ronald Dean Nelson and Peggy Sharkey; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
John was loved by many. He loved to use his green thumb and tending to his garden. John was also known to enjoy yard sale shopping. He was a giving man with a love for family and God. John was always willing to help those in need. He dedicated 34 years of employment to Superior Glass, in Breman, Ohio before taking his retirement in 2009. God has gained another angel.
Per John's wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial service and potluck in John's honor will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Dodson's Gathering, located on broadway in New Lexington, Ohio, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. All of John's family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of a good man. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
