John Ashley Whitehead Sr., 88, of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. John was born on April 11, 1936, to Adeline Bellamy and Walter Whitehead. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Whitehead; siblings, Walter, Walley, Louise, Franchise, Nadine, Loretha and Corey.

John leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Helena "Penny" Bell and John (Mary) Whitehead Jr.; stepchildren, Audrey "Necie" (Thomas "Cheesy") Ford, James "Buddy" (Tina) Spraggins and Bradford (RaShan) Spraggins; siblings, Joseph Whitehead, Patty Mae Whitehead and Debbie Jean Barns; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

John will be missed by all that knew him. Cremation has been chosen and no services will be observed at this time. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
