In Loving Memory of Joseph Paul Stoneburner: A Life Filled with Love, Faith and Service
Joseph Paul Stoneburner passed away on December 9, 2023, at the age of 67 years old, surrounded by his loved ones, after bravely battling esophageal cancer for five years. Though he will be deeply missed, Joe leaves behind a profound legacy of love, faith and service that continues to inspire all who knew him.
Born in Zanesville, Ohio on March 11, 1956, Joe lived a life overflowing with passion. He was an adventurous soul who found joy in flying planes as a private pilot and exploring new places both near and far. An avid sports fan, he cheered on the Ohio State Buckeyes football team and never missed a chance to enjoy his favorite banana split at Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl.
Joe dedicated his career to helping others through his work at Columbia Cement, Campbell's Foodland, and proudly owning and operating three Go Kleen car washes. He brought his kindness, integrity and strong work ethic to all he did.
Faith served as the core of who Joe was. As a devoted member of Norval Park Church of Christ, he faithfully served his community as a Deacon for many years.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, David E. Stoneburner and Norma J. Stoneburner.
Above all, Joe's greatest love was for his family. He and his wife of 46 years, Barbara, built a home filled with warmth, laughter and unwavering support. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Barbara; their four children: Steve (Kate), Scott (Leigh Ann), Stephanie (Micah), and Sean (Tabitha); his grandchildren: Lydia, Luke, Lincoln, Sydney, Winston, Sullivan, Sawyer, Sophia Leigh, Sophia Grace, and Ian; and his brothers, Thomas (Gayle), Mike (Sharon), and stepmother Sharon.
The Stoneburner family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at the James Wexner Medical Center and Genesis Hospice for their unwavering support and dedication.
In celebration of Joseph's remarkable life, a visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 11am - 1 pm, funeral services starting at 1pm, at Norval Park Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Norval Park Church of Christ or OVCYC in Joseph's memory.
