Melvin "Monk" Lee Stephenson

Melvin “Monk” Lee Stephenson II, 71, of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Melvin was born on October 18, 1953, to Melvin Lee Stephenson and Nellie (Jones) Homes. In addition to his parents, Melvin is also preceded in death by his stepdad, Charles Homes; wife, Cheryl Stephenson; sister, Janet, Jenny, Loretta and Sue; brother, Chuck and Jay; grandchild, Harley.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memory, his significant other Patti Morrison; children, Chip (Kelly) Stephenson and Melissa Stephenson; stepchildren, Steven Morrison, Chad Morrison and Tabitha Cronin; sisters, Patty (Ponch) Dalton and Mary Morgan; step siblings, Danny Stephenson, Gary Stephenson and Debbie Stephenson; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; as well as many other friends and family. 

Melvin was known by many as “Monk”. He was a United States Army Veteran who took pride in serving his country. Monk enjoyed watching football and was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was often a man of very few words. Monk will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
