Michael J. Untied

Michael J. "Super Mike" Untied, 75, of Zanesville, Ohio lost his lengthy battle with leukemia, but gained his Victory in Heaven, on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Michael was born September 29, 1946 in Zanesville, son of the late Myrl and Charlotte (Smeltzer) Untied. 
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and dedicated wife, Vicki (Buskirk) Untied, whom he married May 6, 2000; beloved children, Jessica Untied, Jesse (Sara) Untied and Heath (Jo Leigh) Tatman; grandchildren, Kirstin, Alisha, Bryce, Destiny, Dylan, Maddie, Mason, Lily, Anzleigh and Vyolet; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Patrick Untied, Bonnie Dooley, Mary Jo Untied, Thomas Untied and Linda O'Rourke; several nieces and nephews; beloved pets, Hershey, Lucky, Pixie and Pebbles; and a host of other loved ones.
Michael was a graduate of Rosecrans Bishop High School, class of 1965. Following high school, Michael completed a horticulture program in Youngstown, Ohio. He went on to enlist in the US Navy, where he served from 1965 until 1969. Michael worked as a postal clerk aboard the U.S.S. Chilton. During his service, Michael traveled to: Malta, Greece, Rome, Spain, Pompei and Africa. 
Michael went on to work as a meat cutter for Maysville IGA for 35 years, as well as another 12 years of employment at Kroger, before taking his retirement. In his free time, Michael enjoyed traveling. He had a love for plants and a special touch for gardening, which he loved to do. Michael was a proud and dedicated member of The Freedom City Church, of Nashport, Ohio. He always had a smile and always remained happy. Michael had an infectious laugh and he loved to dance. Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. 
Memorial services in Michael's honor will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at The Freedom City Church, 5455 Frazeysburg Rd., Nashport, OH 43830, beginning at 6 p.m. Military honors will be observed. A fellowship meal will be prepared following the service.
