Patrick “Patty John” John Mayle

Patrick John "Patty John" Mayle, 80, of Zanesville, Ohio was called home at 11:26 pm on September 21, 2023 at Genesis Hospital, with family at his side. He was born February 28, 1943 in Zanesville to the late Evelyn Maxine Mayle (Goins) and French Williard Mayle. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Lee Hill; son-in-law, Willie Williams; brother-in-law, John Hill; and good friends Gary Dalton and Neil Mayle.
Leaving to deeply mourn his loss, his Best Friend and Love of 60 years, Marla Mayle of the home; four sons, Patrick Brian (Colleen) of Frazeysburg, Brett (Becky Kennedy), Shaun and French (Natasha) Mayle, of Zanesville; daughters, Gina (Willie) Williams, of Zanesville, Lisa (Christopher) Dalton, of Philo, and Ashley (Victor) Torres, of Parma; mother of Ashley, Shaun and French, Dianna Mayle, of Lowell, Ohio; sisters, Beth McKee, Jill (Mike) Beauford and Wendy (Jesse) Mayle-Martin; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who will miss him. He also leaves one brand new great grandson, and many good friends including Terry Sephfus, Peteman Willett and Hanford Mayle.
Pat was a very proud member of Laborers International Union of North America Local 530, which he joined on November 20, 1961. He relished in holding the title of the longest standing 530 member, being one month shy of 62 years in. He worked hard most of his active years for Mast Construction, although his good friend and boss Kieth Edwards humorously begs to differ. Another title he enjoyed holding was a car title. Being literally "judged" in court as the most effortless car salesman in Muskingum County. He proudly paid the fines, and the bail bondsman as it was well worth the story to tell down by the river for the next 20 years. Pat was a friend to everyone he met. And he met them daily "down below", if you know, you know. If you needed him that's where he would be…with a shoe polish sale price on whatever car he was in. Pat enjoyed taking Marla on long car rides in the evening. Although, it may have been a front just to look for more cars to sell. He was an avid lottery player and luck was on his side, may number 1943 never RIP. Most of all he was a Dad, and a Dad of kids that could do no wrong, because he was always there to pick up the pieces or brush them under the rug if they did. He was always there before the next teardrop fell. If only he could be here today.
You may call on the family on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 11am until 1 pm at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle st., Zanesville Oh. Funeral services will start at 1pm. Burial will follow in Mount Hermon Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
