Patsy Jean Grimes

Patsy Jean Grimes, 76, of Newark, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 30. 2026. Patsy was born March 30, 1950 in Newark, Ohio, daughter of the late Foster P. Moran and Clara V. (Thomas) Simpson. In addition to her parents, Patsy is also preceded in death by her step-dad, Ben Simpson; her husband, David Grimes; her beloved son, William Lee Flanagan; sister, Becky Foster; father of her children, Carl Flanagan; and her children's step-mom, Bonnie Flanagan.

Patsy leaves to mourn her passing, her cherished sons, Carl and James Flanagan; six grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Nibert, Phyllis Redman, William Moran, Paula Bates, Sherry Baker and Peggy King; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Patsy was a graduate of Tri Valley High School. She went on to dedicate 25 years of employment to the Longaberger Company. Patsy loved cats, she had the pleasure of caring for many of her own throughout her life. In her free time, Patsy enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting. She also enjoyed splitting her own firewood. Patsy was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by many.

You may call on the family Friday, June 5, 2026 from 10 am until 12 pm, at Burrell Funeral Services, in Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 12 pm. Patsy will be laid to rest in Hanover Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
