Phyllis Garven Obituary

Phyllis Marlene Garven, 83, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Phyllis was born August 5, 1937 to the late Robert and Berniece (Gearhart) McVicker. In addition to her parents, Phyllis is also preceded in death by her beloved son, Daniel Garven; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Russell and Gabriella Garven; and a brother, Roger McVicker, Sr.
Phyllis leaves to mourn her passing, her loving daughter, Joletta Garven; her grandchildren, Shanta Schuesselin, Danielle Garven, Scarlett Russell, Anthony (Eva) Romine and Jerome (Sylvia) Rutledge; great-grandchildren, Javen Baum, Jacob Garven, Caden Garven and Andrew Emmons; her beloved pet bird, Pete; and a host of seveal other family members and friends.
Phyllis dedicated 40 years of service to Kresge and later, K-Mart. In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed reading books. She often spent time feeding the ducks and watching the deer, memories that her granddaughters will cherish. Phyllis was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Per Phyllis' wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services will be observed at this time. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
