Russell James Woodrow, Jr.

Russell J. Woodrow, Jr., 83, of Dresden, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Genesis Hospital. Russell was born June 28, 1937 in Bolivar, Ohio to the late Russell J. and Margaret S. (Britt) Woodrow, Sr. In addition to his parents, Russell is also preceded in death by his siblings, Ed Woodrow, Bill Woodrow, Marcia Osborne, and Janey Woodrow.
Russell leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Shirley A. (Calendine) Woodrow, whom he married March 16, 1963; his beloved children, Kathy Applegate, Kelly Vance and Rusty Woodrow; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Judy) Woodrow, Nancy Jennings, Carol (Chuck) Smith and Margaret (Mark) Place; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Russell was a United States Veteran, having served in the Navy. He also dedicated many years of faithful service to the Zanesville Fire Department before retiring. Russell will be deeply missed. Per the family's wishes, cremation has been chosen. Russell will be buried in the Woodrow Family Cemetery at a later date. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
