Obituary

Sharon Kay Layton, 80, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. Sharon was born June 8, 1940 to the late Floyd Raymond and Goldie Leona (Miller) Bryan. In addition to her parents, Sharon is also preceded in death by her brothers, Don Bryan, Jim Bryan, Clarence Bryan, and Fred Bryan; sisters, Rosie Walker and Patty Bryan; and her late husband, James Layton, Jr.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children, James W. (Brenda) Layton III, Tonya Layton and Nathaniel (Danny) Layton; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda R. Bennett, Kenneth Joseph (Barb) Bryan, and Gary Dean Bryan; several nieces and nephews; her beloved pet dog, Minnie; and a host of other family members and friends. 
Sharon dedicated many years of service to Riesbeck's Food. She loved being outdoors, often going on camping trips. Sharon enjoyed spending time doting on her dog, Minnie. Above all else, Sharon enjoyed time spent with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. 
A private family service will be held in Sharon's honor. Cremation will follow. Sharon will be laid to rest alongside James Layton, Jr. at a later date. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
