Sidney Lawrence Johnson

Sidney Lawrence Johnson, 72, died at Genesis Hospital on September 1, 2020. He was born on April 16, 1948 in East Chicago, IN, to the late Arlis and Verna Johnson. He worked for and retired from the City of Zanesville and Economy Linen.
Sidney enjoyed spending time with his family and friends whether it was fishing or drinking coffee with  each other. His ultimate favorite was getting the family together and having an annual holiday cookout. 
Sidney is survived by four sisters, Dancing Fawn (Guatemotzin), of Indiana, Theresa (David) Cox, Gail (Keith) Wyatt, and Linda Crump; three brothers, Arlis L. Johnson, Jr. of Chandler, AZ, Charles C. Johnson of Fontana, CA, and Valroy Johnson. Sidney had numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews, and great great neices and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in the death by his brothers, Harvey, Delbert, and Ronald Johnson; two sister Judith Rivera and Constance Kimbrough; one aunt Mary Fisher; six uncles; Donald Rush, Eugene Mayle, Keith Mayle, Paul Mayle, Maurice Mayle, and Sidney Mayle, Jr.
You may call on the family, Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., all of which is to be held at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 536 Moxahala Ave. Pastor Keith Wyatt II officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Per CDC recommendation, all guests will be asked to wear a self provided face covering. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
