Theresa L Cox

Theresa L. Cox, 63 of Zanesville Ohio, passed away at her home on August 22, 2024. Theresa was born on March 13, 1961, to Arlis and Verna Johnson. In addition to her parents, Theresa is preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Rivera and Constance Kimbrough; brothers, Delbert Johnson Sr., Ronald Johnson Sr., Sidney Johnson and Harvey Johnson; stepson, Michael Lewis.

Theresa leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, David Cox; children, Talisa Crawford, Irona (Terry) Bocook; grandchildren, Malik (Kasia) Bocook, Tyhesia Butcher, Shantel (Ricky) Bocook, Jamarea Whatley, Kierra Cox and Liam Cox; 5 great grandchildren; siblings, Arlis Johnson Jr., Charles Johnson, Myrtle “Dancing Fawn” Gomez, Gail (Keith II) Wyatt, Linda Johnson and Valory Johnson; special friends, Paula Scipio, Isabelle Lee and Mary McAfee; several nieces and nephews who she cared about deeply; as well as several other friends and family.

Theresa was an avid BINGO player. She was known by her friends and family as “The life of the party”. Theresa loved hanging out at her daughter's restaurant, South 60. She was a devoted Christian woman who loved going to church, even if it was in her living room. She also enjoyed cooking and hanging out with her friends and family. Theresa will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her. 

You may call on the family on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Calvary Mission Baptist Church, 536 Moxahala Ave, Zanesville, OH 43701. Funeral service will start at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
