Thomas "Big T" G. Martin

Thomas G. "Big T" Martin, 91, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, died at 9:15 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Park Health Center.
Thomas retired in 1992 from the Armco Steel Corp. following 43 years of dedicated service. He was a United States Veteran, having served in the US Army. Thomas was in the 82nd Airborne and an officer of the Military Police.
He served at Apostolic Christian Church as an Elder before he became the Pastor of Apostolic Faith Temple in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He became Emeritus Pastor following his 24 years of Pastoral service.
Thomas was born October 28, 1930 in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Hollie and Mary (Wallace) Martin. Thomas was a father figure and Pastor to many. He enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting. Thomas always enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with his family. He was, and remains, their hero.
Surviving are his dedicated wife, Mrs. Gertrude J. Martin; two daughters, Tina (Kevin) McIntyre and Stacey (Terry) Foster; two sons, Fred (Colleen) Martin and Jeffrey Martin; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred (Charles) Smith.
In addition to his parents, Thomas is also preceded in death by three brothers; and beloved son, Tommy L. Martin.
You may call on the family Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services, in Zanesville. Additional calling will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., at North Terrace Church of Christ, 1420 Brandywine Blvd, in Zanesville. Elder Terrence Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
