William Frederick Hayes Sr.

William Frederick Hayes Sr., 70, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023. William was born June 13, 1952, son of the late Paul M. Hayes Sr. and Bessie M. (Nichols) Hayes. In addition to his parents, William leaves to cherish his memory, his son, William F. Hayes Jr.; siblings, Lois Hayes (Saxton), Paul "Bud" Hayes, Chuck Hayes and Albert "Ab" Hayes. 
William leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years; Karen Hayes; children, Kelli (Kenneth Foster) Hayes and Jessica (Jason) Kirk; grandsons, Ethan Starcher, Hunter Hayes and Tanner Hayes; granddaughters, Tiffany (Jason) Felter and Kaeleigh Kirk; great grandchildren, Carson and Natalie Felter; siblings, Polly (Bob) Medley, Sheila (John) Medley, Danny (Jill) Hayes, Nancy (Bob) Newell and Barbara Bryan; several nieces and nephews; special long time friends, Ted (Janet and Simon) Gray, Pete Patel and family, Napolean Brown and family and Don Kuebler, as well as several other friends and family. 
William had a very strong work ethic and started working at a very young age. He retired after many years of work with Swank Construction where he was a foreman for a saw and seal crew. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, golfing and family cookouts. In recent years he enjoyed the quiet of country living where he liked to mow grass and ride around on the golf cart. He always had a favorite show in the heat of the night on T.V. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. 
You may call on the family, Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 12 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services, in Zanesville. Graveside burial will follow the service in St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora, Ohio. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
