Lillian Leona (Beverly) Burrell, 87, went to be with the Lord July 20, 2016 at Willow Haven Care Center.  She was born July 31, 1928 in Fincastle, Virginia. 
Leona was a loving mother and grandmother and was referred to as 'Nanal' by family.  She guided all of us.  Leona was retired from General Electric and a faithful member of the Hands of Faith Church.  She moved here from Virginia as did her sister, Lenora 'Aunt Lady' Burrell and raised her family here but always considered Virginia home and went back to visit often and her wishes were to be laid to final rest there with the rest of her loved ones.   
She is preceded in death by husband, Roosevelt Burrell; mother, Annie E. (Rogers) Beverly and father, Norwood N.  Beverly, Sr.;  two brothers, Clarence Johnston and Thomas Edward Johnston; two sisters, Lenora Burrell and Constance (Beverly) Braxton, one son,  Clinton Burrell; granddaughter, Tournella; grandson, Cochran Maurice E. Burrell; one great-great grandchild, Taeonna Evans and son-in-law, Mitchell Draughn. 
She is survived by one brother,  Norwood (Ivory) Beverly of Sacramento, California; son,  Edward Eugene (Carolyn) Burrell; daughter, Cynthia Draughn; nine grandchildren, including Robert Burrell, whom she greatly mentored over the years, Redenna Burrell, Camilla Burrell, Kevin Burrell, 'Little' Gene Burrell, Jr., Stacie (Burrell) Norris, Lamont Burrell, T.D. Burrell and 'Little' Clinton Burrell Jr.; 25 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends including special friends Louise Kyle, Pat Burke, Annie Sowers and Rita Caliman and others who took such good care of her.  The family wishes to thank Willow Haven staff for their excellent care. 
Viewing will be Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 4 to 6 PM at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St.  Funeral service will be Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10 AM. There will be viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. at Lapsley's Run Baptist Church, 608 Zion Hill Road, Fincastle, VA, with service at 2 p.m. with her wishes to be laid to rest in Cemetery, near Fincastle, Virginia on Tuesday, July 26,2016.
